Why would American citizens purchase timeshares in Mexico? No legal protection!

Ahhhh!

Bottom Line! If you signed a contract in Mexico, you therefore are fucked!

This happened to me with a similar resort in Panama (Decameron Beach Resorts). They also offered points and even threaten people on the phone if they said they would not pay anymore. I disputed the charges with the banks and luckily was able to get my money back. Ensure that you send them letters via FedEx so you can proof that you tried to contact them. Most credit card companies will help you.

LynRuiz. NOT true! Contact PROFECO. There are laws in place in Mexico designed to protect both citizens and tourists. These companies need to be forced to obey them though. Tourism is Mexico’s CASH COW. These scams are doing a GRAVE diservice to Mexico!

@le238man thanks for replying. there are more scams that i have to deal with. MORTGAGE, CREDIT CARDS, AUTO WARRANTIES , NIGERIA , etc. what’s next ? the main thing that i get angry is when victims are falling for these scams. those scammers won’t stop bothering me. i spoke to those people & they just hang up. that’s fine with me.

If you are a victim of fraud, lies, and or misrepresentation then you can legally cancel your timeshare mortgage contract. For more information you can Google or Bing “Timeshare Mortgage Relief”

i used to be a time share sales person and i agree on must of what is being said here but also u have to be smarter than that , scams will be there not just for timeshare members but for every body as long as there are greedy ppl in both ends , and in regards of the “cutting the price in half ” im sure they also cut the product in half “

You can’t enjoy the free gifts after the presentation. You will be too stressed, mad or tired. Don’t carry those memories with you of your vacation.

Timeshares are a glorified ponzi scheme. Here is an example: Lets say a popular resort has 400 units in one building at a popular vacation destination. A year has 52 weeks and if each week is being sold for $25000 to consumers, the resort makes 52 * $25000 = $1.3 Million for one unit. For 400 units, the resort just raked in a whopping $520 Million in cash. With maintenance fees of $1000/year, the resort collects $52000 in maintenance fees/unit/year, totaling $20.8Million for 400 units.

And a tip to vacationers..DO NOT GO TO THOSE TIME-SHARE MEETING/sales pitches….its a fucking rip-off…..they want you to feel like your shit. Theyll do everything they can to try to make you buy. They say your free to leave, but they wont let you…
