They tell you to come in the mall to pick up your prize. when there really is no prize at all.
They just want you to look at their 15 min sales pitch, give you refreshments and pitch a timeshare sale to you.
When a guy called me to tell me I won, and i asked it was for timeshares…he pretended it wasnt…then i was asking too much details..and he hung up on me.
OMG, I hate them! I signed up one time, years ago, because I thought, "What the heck? I can always hang up" but guess what? The call back!! Over & over again. I feel like it’s a full time job just answering the phone. It’s like an episode of "Tales from the Darkside" because they have your number and they won’t let you go!!!
Yes, my damn husband falls for them. He enters these competitions then goes away on business and they call up tellling me he’s won and want all this information about us. It is so frustrating and maddening. Though I have never had one tell me to come in to see them. I don’t think I would go that far to go to see them. My husband recently entered a competition to win a car, seemed harmless enough then they rang me telling me he did not win but he could win another prize and they wanted all this private information from me. Of course I told them we were not interested anymore. Grrrrr
