Anyone bought a timeshare while away on holidays in Mexico or Dominican Republic?

Were you happy with the Package?

Did you pay by credit card?

The biggest issue when buying a timeshare in a foreign country is if there are problems with the contract. You are often bound by the laws of the home country, and that could mean longer delay than you expect, or at least hiring a lawyer who specializes in international law.

The salespeople of these foreign timeshares can say anything that they want. You need to verify their claims BEFORE buying anything.

Timeshares are also nearly impossible to get rid of, so be prepared to pay that maintenance fee for a VERY long time. It’ll increase year after year as well.

My advice is to save your money and take vacations on your schedule not the schedule of a far away timeshare.

Before you buy a timeshare, check ebay and see how very inexpensively they can be bought. Like pennies on the dollar.
