Are Fax Offers for Cheap Orlando Trips Legitimate?

I get these all the time. Latest is from "S-Star Travel" and has a code of ST-35843. Fax also says "Vacation Clearance Center". 5 days/4 nights at Disney Main Gate, 3 days/2 nights oceanfront at Daytona, St. Pete or Ft. Lauderdale (your choice), 3 days/2 nights on a cruise to Nassau, Bahamas, 5 days oceanfront in Cancun or 7 days in Puerto Vallerta, Mexido, and 8 days/7 nights in the Dominican Republic, all for the low, low price of 9 per person! And, 2 free kids with 2 paid adults! Yes, it’s way too good to be true!

I’ve stayed at good places in Orlando that tried to sell me a timeshare, and I got a good rate and Disney dollars for listening to their aggressive, borderline hostile presentations. However, with all the different facets of this offer, it looks just like a straight ripoff. Could find nothing on the web regarding S-Star travel or "Vacation Clearance Center". You’d think there would be web postings, positive or negative.

Those faxes your talking about are "spam" faxes and they are illegal just like "spam" email… I would put as much stock in them as I would a telemarketer or an email for buying viagra over the internet. If they were a legit company they would advertise like everyone else.

They are scams and it will ultimately cost you more than if you book it through your regular agent or from a legitimate travel website. They nail you with administration fees, taxes, etc..
Be careful. Remember if it sounds to good to be true it probably is.

Usually not. If it sounds too good to be true it probably is.

These are usually scams. You might want to check out http://www.ripoffreport.com to see if the company is listed.
