Companies That Sell Timeshares
How can I find a reputable company to sell my timeshare through?
I know there are lot of “fly-by-night” companies out there and don’t want to get ripped off. Is there a website that lists the licensed/good companies, maybe lists them with BBB?
First of all, avoid any company that asks for money up front. I bought a time share through a company called Timeshares To Go (www.TimeSharesToGo.com). They charge a flat fee that they collect from the proceeds in escrow and it costs nothing to list your property. They do have some kind of stipulation about what happens if you sell your property through some other means after you have listed it with their site. But, that’s for their protection that you won’t get contacted by someone who saw your property on their site and bypassed their commission.
At first I was a bit concerned about living in California, buying a timeshare in Hawaii, from a couple in Michigan, through a company in Florida. I mean, if something went wrong, whose laws were applicable? But, the deal went through without a hitch and I was very happy with this company.
