Check out this site, David’s Disney Vacation Club Rental.
    http://www.dvcrequest.com/default.asp

He seems to be a broker that helps Disney Vacation Club members rent out their points, when they are unable to use them. His points run cheap, I’ve seen some as low as $6/point. Meaning that you could stay at the Animal Kingdom in their studio sized room (comes with a kitchenette) for approximately $686.00. and you get all the benefits that come with staying on Disney property. However, I do think most points tend to go for $13 each, so normally that room could cost $1,248. still a much better deal than you quoted.

I am not affiliated with this guy, and I have never used his services, but his approval rating is 100%. It’s worth checking out.

Disney’s version of a timeshare – Disney Vacation Club, is a great way to be able to visit Walt Disney World IF you plan on going a lot in the future. A time share is not a good idea to do if you’re going only once.

With DVC you pay for points, and the points are used to stay at WDW or other properties around the world. Again, this is not cheap, but if you plan on going to WDW a lot over the next several years, it’ll pay for itself.

If you’re not interested in joining, and only want to go to WDW this one time, you might want to rent points off of a member. There a websites where members put their points up for rent. Do a search for "DVC point rentals".

Here is a site that will give you more info:
