youre better off buying a condo for a vacation home and renting it out when youre not there and receive a tax benefit. youre just throwing money in the street buying a timeshare.

Time-sharing can be an affordable way to own a vacation home. Before you buy, you should be able to answer YES to all these questions:

    * Are you POSITIVE you want to spend ALL your vacations there?
*Have you visited the facility? Are you satisfied with its quality, with the stability of the management, and with the terms of the contract? Have you checked out this time-share development with the Better Business Bureau, the Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Office or your Legal Assistance Office?

*Have you talked to some long-time owners in this time-share facility?

*Can you afford both the facility and the round trip travel costs each year?

    DO NOT BUY IF:

    * You want to rent out the facility.

    * You plan on reselling it.

    * You plan on exchanging vacation sites frequently.

people buy time shares because they are bad at math. Why do people lease cars?

hey, time shares are a good thing if you use them to their full extent. I am good at math, thanks, and I have a time share.

Timeshares work for people who want to trade them for other time shares in other locations. That way they get to be in different places during their vacations. From an investment standpoint, it doesn’t make too much sense.

I just bought my second timeshare in six years and Love it. I can go wherever I want, whenever I want. Even with the yearly maintenance cost, my cost of vacationing has been cut in half and my vacations have actually doubled.
