How Can I Get Proof of Canceled Timeshare?
About 3 years ago, my family went to one of those high pressure pitched timeshare things in Orlando. Stupidly we ended up signing a contract on one. But we had buyers remorse and cancelled within the 10 day time frame that they are required by law to allow. We have never heard from them again, but in about the last 5-6 months, we have been receving calls from companies asking if we want to sell our timeshare. I also recently heard a consumer advocate saying that some of these timeshare companies will sell you out to a collection agency for payment, even though they know that you cancelled in time as needed. Now I am concerned that I have no proof that we cancelled in time. The letter that i sent is long gone. How can I get in touch with Fairfield to obtain confirmation that we terminated that contract lawfully? Any other suggestions?
Timeshare companies really hard when you owe them money. If they felt like you owe them they will be calling you next day, not 3 years later.
About those people asking you to sale your timeshare, it´s just another scam. Do not answer to anything.
If they wanted to send you to collection you would have heard it by now.
