If you truly have been a victim of fraud, you should call the police and the AG’s office.

Also, if you paid by credit card, call them to issue you a refund. If you paid by check, then the money is gone, but call your bank and see what they might be able to do.

You will have to get the money back from the scammer.

As in find a lawyer and sue the scam artist. With any luck he doesn’t skip to Mexico and has actually some money left to repay you.

Did you report this scam to the police?

The only thing that might work…. is the newest IRS ruling in re to victims of Ponzi schemes. (allows the victim to write off 95% of the loss on their taxes)
