How Do, or Where Do I Post an Add for a Timeshare?

Selling because of Heart Attack. Have a timeshare in the Cayman Islands that I won’t be using any longer so I need to sell it. I am asking less than half the other adds I see and like a third of what they are asking from the resort. Would appreciate any input.

It doesn’t hurt to try craigslist but it is not an effective selling tool for timeshares (doesn’t hurt to try though).

The most effective way to sell is research and working with a good company.

I made a successful sale of my Mystic Dunes timeshare (Orlando) using sellmytimesharenow.com

Here is the research I did before choosing a company

    1. I checked the BBB report on the company
    2. I made them provide traffic and offer reports
    3. I acted like a buyer on search engines and only inquired with easy to find, top ranked companies
    4. I searched online for complaints about the company.

All this took me a couple hours (the final decision took days!)
I also posted on free sites at the same time and recommend you do the same as well.

I wish you the best in your venture!

It doesn’t matter why you are sellling, timeshares are difficult if not impossible to sell. You will need to take probably 20% of what you paid for it providing it is paid off. I would call the company where you bought it and ask how much they would be able to pay you to resell it? That is about your only option because new time shares are being created every day and they are a bad buy. Most people don’t want to buy from anyone other that the timeshare company, so that will also limit your ability to sell it. Call the company and ask.

Honestly, you probably can’t give it away and the place you bought it from won’t even take it for free because then they would lose the tax and upkeep money you are on the hook for. You just quit paying and take your lumps on your credit report.Sorry to tell you that but it is one of the biggest ripoffs in modern time

People sell them on ebay and with an ad in timeshare today.
tstoday.com. I have purchased several timeshares on ebay but some of them no one bids on. You might want to do a search on ebay of closed auctions to see what they sell for. I pay about $2000 for a $17,000 time share on ebay, but the people do get rid of them. You can also advertise for free on http://www.craigslist.org. You can also rent it on craigslist. People do answer those ads. I have rented unused timeshare weeks on craigslist. You have to give them a lot of information like what it normally costs to stay there and how much money they are saving by renting from you. Some resorts will sell the timeshares for you to people who come and stay there. Some will rent your week for you for a hefty fee.
Do not pay anyone an up front fee to sell your time share. There are a lot of scams and timeshare today tells you about a lot of them.
