Entry from: H****ei, United States Entry Title: “Napali Coast – Quentissential Hawaii” Entry: “Date of Trip : January 6, 2008 Blog Written : October 27, 2008 —————————————————————— Napali Coast – an Hawaiian Wonder Today’s drive would take us one more time to the north coast of Kauai to have a closer look at the Napali Coast. Our route to the end of Highway 56 took us through the scenic H****ei Valley that is renowned for its taro fields. Taro is the plant from which the Hawaiian staple known as “poi” is made. Poi could be considered the rice or potato of Hawaii and has been around since the first Polynesians came to the islands. Unlike the rice or potato fields, taro fields actually could be considered as scenic. Our first order of business, if that is a term that can be used during a vacation, was to hike a part of Kalalau Trail, which starts at the parking lot that marks the end of Highway 56. As I have mentioned in other blogs, the only way to see the Napali Coast by land is to put on hiking boots, carry plenty of water and nourishment and then hike as far as your motivation carries you. Our aim in the hike was a rather modest one – to get a clear unobstructed view of the spectacular coast characterized by breath-taking sea cliffs. That could be achieved

Owning and Enjoying a Prestigious Oceanfront Home in Hawaii

Discover the secret of owning and enjoying oceanfront home in Hawaii’s most prestigious neighborhoods at an affordable price The exceptional high-end properties in Hawaii remain stable, holding up better than expected and in high demand. The supply for oceanfront Kahala homes as well as Diamond Head properties is somewhat limited, and currently available homes asking prices range from 50000 to the high of 950000. For a buyer that is going to use the Hawaii property as a second home, it makes more sense to explore the fractional ownership of homes, where you can purchase a property with other owners for a period of 60 days each. This allows home owners to plan their visits well in advance, year after year. Fractional residences seem to be the more sensible way for owning and enjoying a luxurious second home without being priced out of the ritzy type properties and neighborhoods. The fractional home sales industry has been established in some resort markets such as aspen, Colorado and Lake Tahoe, as well as Canada and Caribbean. The concept is definitely in its infancy in Hawaii and is now presented to the home buyers and sellers. There is a move to educate the Real Estate Agents as well as the public about this option. This is in no way a time share, you actually have a deed for the proportionate interest in the property. Fractional home owners may use their property during specific time frame per year personally, sharing it with family and friends, renting it out
