Time Share Question About Company That Called Me About My Time Share?

hey got a question I received a call from a company that said they have a buyer for my time share in florida. they told me they are the closing company and that I am in the final stages of the selling of my time share property. they told me that the company that I had thought had stiff me on the money I paid up front in 2009. Had sent my paper work over to them and they had sold my timeshare. the buyer is paying all the closing costs and legal fee and i am being reimbursed the money I paid up front to the company I had originally went with because they did not sell my time share as agreed with in the years time frame. But I had to have a good faith deposit up Front so in case I back out for what ever reason I pay for the processing fee and time spent on the sell. However if the sell goes through I get the deposit back added to the selling price. I wanted to know if this sound like a scam and is to good to be true

Sounds scam-ish, but I’m not sure I fully understand what happened to start all of this. If you want to move forward then I’d request my own escrow company to give them the money. If they refuse then I’d take the ‘ish’ off my first sentence.

You can also try and do some research on the company to see if there are any issues or complaints. If it is a scam there may be no history as they would not use the same name for very long. If you find the company online, call them directly from the numbers you find in a directory. They may be using a legit name but passed on false numbers to you.

It is a Scam! This outfit is calling all time share owners and trying to pull the same thing. They will take your deposit money and you will never hear from them again. Unfortunately most timeshares have no resale value at this time.

It’s a scam… Never pay any type of upfront fee to sell your timeshare!

It is even possible that this is the same group that took your money earlier, now coming back for seconds! When you are involved in a timeshare closing, it’s the buyer who is the one that sends in a good faith deposit- not the seller..

Be smart and simply hang up the phone.. Don’t be fooled again!

To sell a timeshare, only work with a legitimate brokerage who does not charge any type of upfront fee and only gets paid at closing (at the same time you do as the seller!).. Progressive Real Estate Agency is a respected resale brokerage located in Florida. Try speaking with someone who isn’t simply looking to scam you out of your money.

    I used a website called http://www.timsharesforcharity.org

I tried selling my timeshare a few times with no luck. Once I contacted timeshares for charity the put my timeshare on the market for 3 weeks for free. Since my timeshare did not sell which I knew it wouldn’t they put me in a program that allowed me to get the timeshare out of my name. I officially no longer own a timeshare. Good luck
