What Are Some Good Ways to Get Rid of a Timeshare W/o Spending $ Upfront to List?

I have a 2 bedroom unit in the Poconos that we always trade with RCI. HOwever, we don’t want it anymore. I am looking for ideas that may actually work to unload it. From what I can gather so far, I am not sure if I can even give it away.

There is an awesome website that works like the classifieds for your local city. They have a section for timeshare and real estate. Its free to post there and who knows you may get a bite. Good luck…

You can donate the timeshare and take the tax write off. This is about the best you can do.

The answer to this is the same as many financial questions – time or money?

If you have time, then you can try to sell it, rent it, donate it, give it away, not pay for it and all the solutions that so many timeshare owners try. These methods will work for some timeshares, but the majority of the time, they do not. The market does not favor motivated sellers in the timeshare industry.

The problem comes into play when maintenance fees comes due or special assessments are billed. Now time IS money.
